How Long Does Menopause Last?

DONT PAUSEMenopause marks the end of a woman’s reproductive years, and while many women expect the symptoms to cease when they no longer get a period, the truth is that symptoms can continue for many years. The “Study of Women’s Health Across the Nation” recently announced that women had hot flashes for as long as 14 years in some cases. The average amount of time that women have hot flashes is about 7 ½ years, but other symptoms can continue for many more years. In fact, Dr. Shoreh Ershadi of the AntiAging Institute of California has previously noted that menopause symptoms can last a lifetime.

Symptoms of menopause can first appear in a woman’s late 30s or early 40s. The average age of menopause in American women is 51. While some symptoms may decrease over time and after the final period, the average woman will continue to experience symptoms throughout the remainder of their lives. These symptoms can include:

• Vasomotor symptoms, including night sweats, hot flashes, cold flashes, dizziness, electric shocks on the skin, and weight changes
• Urogenital changes, including vaginal atrophy, bladder changes, painful intercourse, stress and urge incontinence, and vaginal dryness
• Digestive changes, including indigestion, heartburn, and food allergies
• Emotional changes, including depression, irritability, reduced libido, insomnia, memory problems, inability to focus, anxiety, and insomnia
• Other symptoms, including dry skin, blood sugar fluctuations, dry or itchy skin, carpal tunnel syndrome, gum disease, and osteoporosis

DON’T PAUSE can be an excellent natural supplement for women who are in menopause. It can be taken as soon as a woman begins experiencing menopause symptoms, and you can continue taking it for the rest of your life to keep bothersome symptoms at bay and to maintain your health.
